Which Kids’ Bedroom Theme Is Right For My Child?

04.24.07

Fishing Theme Gypsy Girl Theme

A child’s room is the perfect place to play around with paint, fabrics, and accessories to create a whimsical look that will delight your little one. With so many possibilities, the hardest part can be deciding on a design theme. Asking yourself these simple questions could start you on your way to designing the perfect kid’s bedroom theme: Does your child like animals? (Perhaps a jungle or zoo theme would do) What sports are they involved in? (Football, soccer, baseball)  What is your child’s favorite color? How does your child like to spend his or her Saturdays? (Walking in the woods, going to see a movie, bowling with friends, heading for the beach?)

For nature lovers, try a camping theme complete with a tent. Use earth tones of green, blue, and brown in your color palette. For that little princess, make a canopy over her bed from lacy, pink fabric. Build a “moat” by choosing a blue rug to surround the bed. Cowboys love round-ups so decorate the room with cowboy-inspired bedding and a cowboy boot rug. Choose solid wood furniture, suede fringed pillows, and Indian throws as accessories. Use red and blue in your color palette. Ballerinas love pink, so decorate a ballet-inspired bedroom with frilly fabrics of all colors of pink. Hang a crystal chandelier in the room and accent walls with artwork of ballet slippers and tutus.

Great teen room idea.

Where can I locate the teen room idea’s the comment eludes to? I tried to find it by entering teen girls room but nothing came up but no decorating ideas were mentioned. Are there any listed at this web site?

Just look under Designer Rooms to find all the kids bedrooms, nurseries and kids playrooms.
