The contest is simple – for every sock monkey purchased at KooKoo Bear Kids from July 15 through October 1 2010, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the STAR House Foundation. Once purchased, contestants will take photographs with their Sock Monkey in interesting and fun locations. This could be on vacation, playing at home, involved with their local sports team or even participating in local charitable events – imagination is encouraged.

STAR House Foundation is enriching our community by promoting academic success and empowering lifelong achievement in at-risk children. KooKoo Bear Kids has been selected to decorate a Kids Bedroom at the 13^th Annual Roswell Woman’s Club 2009 Showcase Home Tour.  The tour will feature the top interior designers, furniture stores and specialty trades people in the Atlanta Ga area.  The home is located on 30 acres in the City of Milton, Ga with a 10K farmhouse, 100-year-old caretakers cottage, 7 car garages, pool, tennis courts and horses. 

The funds raised from the Showcase go directly back into the North Fulton community with half as scholarships to area graduating high school seniors and special grants to support education.  The other half goes to support many of the non-profits agencies in North Fulton, including North Fulton Community Charities, Roswell Cultural Arts Center, Chattahoochee Nature Center, Georgia Ensemble Theater and many others.

The Model search will be held on March 19-23, and April 3-4 2009 in our Retail Store located at 23 Oak Street Roswell, GA 30075.   The contestant’s will be separated into two groups, tots (under 2) and kids (ages 2-12).  After the photo sessions are complete, the contestant’s pictures will be posted online for voting. Voting is open to anyone, but you can only vote once. 

Elite Model Management will judge the final 12 contestants (6 in each category) and 2 winners will be selected, one tot age 2 and under and one child age 2-12. 

Winners will be announced at the New KooKoo Bear Kids Store located in Sweet Apple Village, 12060 Etris Road Roswell, GA 30076, (Date to be Determined).  Winners in each category will receive a $500.00 shopping spree at KooKoo Bear Kids, 5 free photo sessions at James Adam Hill Photography (a $1,000.00 value) and an Exclusive contract with Elite Model Management.

Ok we are starting to do the social networking thing.  We think MySpace, facebook and LinkedIn will be a great place to post our new product announcements, coupons  and Twitter will be a place to find new friends and chat.  I feel this will be a great way for us to create a community to share decorating ideas for your kid’s bedrooms and the baby nursery and a way for you to tell us of new product you may have seen in the market and might like us to carry or create. I don’t know if it’s all kids or just mine, but bathtime is always a fight at my house. My kids hate stopping playtime just to get clean. I know I hated it as a kid too. I’ve looked through tons of parenting magazines and mommy blogs but very few have addressed this parenting issue and the ones that do, don’t seem to have great suggestions. They say “ make bathtime funtime. ” Well how do you do that? I tried bubbles; it worked for about a week. I tried letting the kids bathe together. I’ve tried keeping them separate.
