About the Author Diane Adams is the author of two children’s picture books, Zoom!, and I Can Do It Myself! She is the illustrator of A Home For Salty (written by Stephanie Stuve Bodeen.)

Diane was born in Long Beach, California, and grew up in Los Angeles and San Francisco. She loved to write poetry as a child, and her favorite book was Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. It’s still one of her favorites.

Diane loves to read, walk her dogs, play golf, and ride her motorscooter. She also loves reading to, and with, children.

Diane has a degree in Spanish from the University of Redlands and has studied under Marla Frazee at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. She spends much of her time writing, visiting schools and speaking at conferences.

Our last Story Time was such a fun event we would like to share the picture of Ann Ginkel author of I’ve Got An Elephant.

Each child was given a balloon and Ann herself personally signed each book purchased. Story Time is a nice way to introduce your child to reading and experiencing the fun stories of our local authors.

KooKoo Bear Kids opens a new retail store in the Atlanta area at 12060 Etris Road Roswell Ga.

Two Georgia children will be featured in KooKoo Bear Kids Catalog and step into the spotlight to help promote the local merchant’s products for children. KooKoo Bear Kids will feature one-year-old Aiden Emerson of Dallas and four-year-old Taylor Lieberman of Dahlonega as models in its Holiday Catalog.

KooKoo Bear Kids partnered with Elite Model Management and James Adam Hill Photography to conduct a citywide model search in March. More than 300 children participated in a photo session as part of the contest. The contestant’s photos were posted on KooKoo Bear Kids’ Web site where visitors cast votes for their favorite model in two categories, “tots” (under two-years-old) and ages 2 to 12.

Over 10,000 votes were cast during a 6-week period, and Elite Atlanta selected the overall winner from each category. KooKoo Bear Kids announced the results during a red carpet event at its new location in Roswell’s Sweet Apple Village. Each winner received a $500 shopping spree at KooKoo Bear Kids, an exclusive contract with Elite Model Management and five free photo sessions at James Adam Hill Photography.

“We were overwhelmed by how many families showed up to participate in the model search,” said Joe Mediate, KooKoo Bear Kids Chief Marketing Officer. “Featuring hometown children in our national catalog is a great way to thank the community for helping to make us a local success story.”
